Siamese Basil

This is by far the best Thai Restaurant in San Diego. My girlfriend and I stumbled into this establishment about 5 years ago. The interior is your basic "hole-in-the-wall," but the spice in the food is what makes this place stand out. I like my food very spicy and always order a 10 (the range is from 1-10, 10 being very hot). I was not disappointed. In fact, I started scaling down to a 9. The prices are very reasonable. If you are ever in Encinitas, this is the Thai place to try!

Firenze

Firenze is an Italian restaurant located in Encinitas. It has a great, romantic, outdoor dining space with a beautiful fountain. The food is fabulous and there is a nice variety to the menu. The Risotto tri Fungi or the Ravioli di Portobello is scrumptuous. Dinner entrée is $14-$38. http://www.firenzetrattoria.com/index.html

Vigilucci's

The Vigilucci's Trattoria Italiana in Encinitas is by far my favorite out of the 6 restaurants owned by Roberto Vigilucci. The atmosphere is quaint and the staff is friendly. The service is wonderful and I highly recommend the Mezzelune d'Aragosta, ravioli filled with lobster and sautéed in in a rock shrimp cognac cream sauce. Absolutely sensational!
